The History Of Fulgor Milano
Fulgor, as it was originally known, was founded in 1949 in the industrious territory of the Alto-Milanese. They began as a manufacturer of coal-powered ovens, stoves and ranges.
With a passion for quality and contemporary design combined with the Italian way of life, they have built on their heritage and developed cooking appliances that exceed all expectations of performance and styling.
In the 1950's, Fulgor began to manufacture wood-burning cookers and stoves, with production of gas free-standing cookers beginning in 1955. 10 years later, Fulgor began to simplify their lines and materials with the modern production machinery they needed to expand abroad. This then resulted in the appearance of built in appliances and glass finishes in kitchens.
In 1976, Fulgor started the production of electric built in ovens, with gas cooktops then following in 1980. In 2009, the Menenghetti family acquired Fulgor and reinvented as Fulgor Milano, enabling the company to enter the export market with their own brand which makes up a large portion of the company's total exports, particularly to the North American market.
With a long history of success and experience, Menenghetti Spa (owners of the Fulgor Milano brand) introduced "Sofia", the new professional range offering a balance between elegance, function and performance and providing a perfect centrepiece for any kitchen.
In 2019, Fulgor celebrated its 70th anniversary, remembering the values embraced since the beginning. The passion for design, style, detail and quality both in the kitchen and in cooking is evident in all of their products, and thanks to the love of the Menenghetti family and the hard work from their team, Fulgor are continuing to extend into the international market and we are lucky to have them as part of Rangecookers.co.uk.
Today we are seeing even more new products from this impressive brand, so why not take a look at some of them you can choose from on our website...
This purposeful cooker features a 161 litre gas oven, so if you are a professional chef accustomed to cooking with gas then you will love the way this oven performs - a large underfloor burner and diffuser, in combination with the internal fans, delivers heat evenly throughout the cavity.
There is also a variable gas grill burner which, like the oven and hob, can convert from natural mains gas to LPG if required. Inside the oven are two heavy duty racks, one of which can be set up on telescopic runners, an enamel tray with anti-splash insert, plus a plug in food probe which works in conjunction with the 6 digit touch control timer to cook to a target temperature for perfect results.
Worth noting is that this Sofia Professional range is made using touch-proof stainless steel, so it will continue to look good even after some serious work, and the quadruple-glazed, soft-close oven doors cleverly use heat reflecting glass to keep the external temperature below 50°C.
On top is a thoughtfully designed cooking surface with 6 burner positions, each with a 5 in 1 Crescendo burner. Heavy duty cast iron grates also form a continuous surface for easy movement of pots and pans. This cooker is also available in a dual fuel model with a 465° pyrolytic cleaning cycle, meaning all food deposits are burnt into ash and can be swept away.
The Sofia Pro pyro induction model features a powerful premium induction hob with five cooking zones, all of which have a booster option, with the middle dual function zone offering up to an amazing 5.5kW in performance. With a touch screen TFT display on the facia panel and metal control knobs, you can easily set the induction zones to the exact specification you require and get instant results.
In addition to this, the TFT display and metal controls are designed to be used to control the impressive 161 litre single oven. Offering an amazing 11 cooking functions from defrost to pizza mode and everything in between, alongside the extra low temperature and eco functions.
The pyrolytic self-cleaning mode when in use reaches an impressively high temperature (approx. 470°C) to incinerate left-over dirt and grease from the oven cavity, taking away the time consuming and difficult job of scrubbing the oven interior. With black porcelain enamel, 3 light points, telescopic shelving and double internal ventilation, there's not much more you can ask for behind the cool touch, soft closing door.
This 48 inch (1216mm wide) model is deeper than the standard UK cabinet at 691mm, so it will either project slightly into the room (this can look very appealing), or if you prefer a flush look you will need to build your kitchen accordingly.
This purposeful cooker features TWO multifunction ovens - a 124.5 litre main oven (gross capacity) with dual internal fans and a range of fanned, non-fanned and grilling functions to give you all the versatility you could need (including warming and proving settings), all with an A-class energy rating. Rapid pre-heat gets the oven to temperature with convenient haste, and there is an automatic pyrolytic cleaning cycle in both ovens to bring the cavity up like new every time. Inside each oven are two heavy duty racks, one of which can be set up on telescopic runners, an enamel tray with anti-splash insert, and in the main oven a plug-in food probe which works in conjunction with the 6-digit touch control timer to cook to a target temperature for perfect results.
Unusually, this impressive spec is repeated on the smaller 76.5 litre oven, giving you an amazing degree of flexibility and performance. This Professional range is also made using touch-proof stainless steel, so it will continue to look good even after a lot of cooking, and the quadruple-glazed, soft-close oven doors cleverly use heat reflecting glass to keep the external temperature below 50°C even during the 465° pyrolytic cleaning cycle.
