A range cooker can provide a kitchen with a hint of colour, some character and warmth in many ways. The kitchen is a centrepoint for energy usage within any home, and with energy bills significantly rising, we want to focus on how you can get yourself a range cooker without breaking the budget.

Cooking food to perfection, a premium model range cooker can often cost you anywhere upwards of £2000. If the budget is tight a range cooker can be a daunting piece of equipment, especially as it is an investment piece, but it doesn’t have to be as expensive as you may think. They not only make a great statement piece within a kitchen, the cooking capacity and power is very much worth the money. But which range cookers will be best for your budget?

DeLonghi

DeLonghi range cookers are known for their clean lines and elegance, but they also offer well-considered features for a very fair price. The Vintage 90DF is a great price for the high-quality features shown throughout. This double oven range cooker offers a programmable A-rated main oven with 8 different fanned and conventional cooking functions and includes a grill. The second conventional oven includes a very clever Rotisserie and another grill, along with a useful plate warming shelf. The ovens are coated with a special easy-to-clean vitreous enamel and the double glazed doors feature removable inner glass panels.

(DeLonghi Vintage 90DF Twin, £1,125)

This Modern DSR single range cooker comes in at the lowest price for all the cookers on our website, but it doesn’t mean it lacks in quality. The specification is just as pleasing as the price, with the large programmable A-rated main oven featuring four different fanned cooking functions that also includes a grill, easy-to-clean vitreous enamel and an interior halogen light. Below the oven is also a drop-down door, uncovering a very useful extra storage space.

We sell a variety of range cookers from various brands but when it comes to our own brand, the culmination of many years’ experience by our specialist Bigblue designers creates the Rangecookers products we know and love.

The Select 70df2 is perfect for more compact space. The extra width allows this Select 70df2 to feature not only the five burner gas hob but also two ovens – a 53 litre fanned programmable main oven and a 35 litre conventional top oven with variable electric grill. The top oven can also be used with heat base only, which is perfect for cooking crispy pizzas! Both ovens are double-glazed with removable inner door glass, with the main oven also featuring a left-hinged side opening door.

(Rangecookers Select 90ei2, £1,495)

Then there is the Rangecookers Select 90ei2, the first induction model in our Select collection. A sturdy and reliable electric range cooker that is designed to appeal on all fronts, this model will suit your budget nicely without compromising on quality. It features a multifunction, programmable main oven with conventional second oven, two integrated grills and a sleek induction hob. Not a standard build, the competent Select 90ei2 is manufactured to Rangecookers’ considered specification at a specialist Italian factory chosen for its engineering credentials and great track record.

 

Smeg

Rich with Italian style and class, Smeg range cookers are designed for contemporary living with advanced technology and flexibility. Attention to detail is something that brings Smeg’s products to life within the homes they are installed in. The Smeg Concert collection are the brand’s entry-level offering. The Concert has a distinctive design with clean, elegant styling and an array of features such as a multifunction oven, digital electronic clock/programmer and flame safety devices. These range cookers are easy to use, practical and look great within any kitchen. Available in a 90cm width with either a gas or ceramic top.

New World

With over 120 years of experience, New World’s range of cookers is impressively varied in style and colour and with a model to suit any kitchen design. Designed here in the UK, they are focused on putting both family and food first with a value for money, no frills approach to manufacture.

(New World Traditional, £775)

This 90cm dual fuel range cooker offers a 60 litre fanned oven in the bottom left cavity, a 66 litre fanned oven on the right and a 30 litre grill top left. The 5 burner gas hob on top features hardwearing matt enamelled supports, keeping your pots and pans stable and safe, plus a powerful 3.8kW central wok burner for making the perfect stir fry. Aluminium handles and inox control knobs lend a sleek, understated appearance at home in any kitchen environment.

 

Rangemaster

Sitting just slightly under £2000 is the Rangemaster Kitchener. This model does a great job of representing the famous brand’s entry-level offering, and is a straightforward and good looking overall design with the same specification as Rangemaster’s other standard models. This Kitchener 100 dual fuel model offers a cavernous 82 litre tall oven and a sizeable 73 litre fanned and programmable main oven with Handyrack feature, plus a separate variable electric grill above. On top there is a five burner hotplate with wok burner and matt cast iron pan supports.
